What is Management?
Management can refer to a variety of leadership roles in a variety of fields. In general it encompasses roles that have the responsibility to oversee and requires decision making. From setting goals and prioritizing projects to research and planning, if you enjoy working with people and are a problem solver, this could be the career path for you.
Students in this program learn a variety of skills based on the specific degree or certificate types they are working toward. For example, Business Management student learn to analyze the changing contemporary business environment while critically evaluating business plans. Hospitality Management students learn to plan, organize, and manage special events while gaining knowledge of food purchasing, receiving, and issuing; proper table service; and front of the house management controls. At Terra State, our Management students are critical thinkers who seek to understand the complex issues of an organization, enjoy working with people, and are comfortable with planning events and projects. Career Opportunities
Graduates of a Management program can find careers in a variety of areas depending on the specific degree or certificate they pursue. Some examples include an event planner, guest services manager, human resources manager, property manager, and crop consultant. What style of classes are offered in the Management program?
The Business Management program offers day and night classes in a traditional setting and online. There are also cohorts where students can earn their degree by attending one day per week for two years.
The Hospitality Management programs offers day classes on campus.
What are my transfer options for this degree?
Students interested in business management and who plan to continue to earn a Bachelor's degree can join Terra State's business management cohort. Classes meet one night per week. After finishing Terra State's classes, students enter Tiffin University's program to finish their bachelors in 18 months on Terra's campus one night a week.
