What is the Electricity Program?
The important field of electrical power and controls focuses on ensuring that electrical systems are installed and maintained correctly. From programming to troubleshooting, if you enjoy working with your hands and problem solving, this could be the career path for you.
Students in this program learn to Troubleshoot electrical, electro-mechanical and programmable/configurable, assemblies, systems, networks, and processes. They also learn to read diagrams, schematics, PLC program documentation, drawings, and technical literature in the design, installation, operation, while diagnosing machines, processes, systems, electrical, electromechanical, assemblies and wiring systems. At Terra State, our Electricity students are self-starters, have a desire to fix things, and like to solve problems with using their hands. Does this describe you?
Career Opportunities
Graduates of an Electricity program can find careers in a variety of areas such as a industrial electrician, programmable logic controller (PLC) technician, field service technician, instrumentation and process control technician, and automation technician. What style of classes are offered in the Electricity program?
The majority of Electricity classes are on campus because of the hands-on nature of the program and are offered in both the day and evening.
