Trisha Foos, '09

Used Terra State to find her calling as Production Scheduler

The faculty was very friendly and knowledgeable. They wanted to see you succeed." ~ Trisha Foos

Trisha Foos planned to go to a large four-year university when she graduated from Fremont Ross High School. “I began having reservations about going to a big campus,” Trisha recalls. “I spoke to my mom about it and she did not want me to take a break. I am so glad she didn’t let me.” Trisha was able to enroll at Terra State just a few weeks before the semester started.

Trisha knew that she wanted to major in business. “At first, I started in business management, but as I got into it, I knew what I wanted my concentration to be,” she says. At that point, Trisha stayed in the business area, but changed to office administration. “I have always loved the options that the business world has. I thought I could go anywhere with it.”

Trisha graduated from Terra State in 2009 with her Associate in Applied Business. When thinking about her experience at the College, she says, “The class sizes were great. The faculty was very friendly and knowledgeable. They wanted to see you succeed.” Because she was working full time while taking classes, Trisha was not able to participate in any extracurricular activities, but it is not as if she didn’t notice the different opportunities. “It was nice to see the campus life and what was going on around you. It was all positive.”

After earning her Terra State degree, Trisha took advantage of the FastTrack program the College has in partnership with Tiffin University. In 2011, she graduated with her Bachelor of Business Administration, while still working full time. “It was a smooth transition. I took all my classes at Terra State. It was a twenty to twenty-three month program. Out of that whole period, I believe I had to go to Tiffin once for a class. It was very convenient.”

Trisha now is at Zink Calls, a division of Plano Synergy, in Port Clinton. “I started with them in 2010 after I had already started my bachelor’s program. They were very understanding. I was able to leave work early once a week for class because the FastTrack program only met one time a week.” She serves as the Production Scheduler for the maker of duck, goose and turkey callers and decoys. “I work with our forecaster team. I make sure we are producing and manufacturing product to ensure we are not behind demand. I enjoy the hunting and outdoor industry. I love my job!”

Trisha still lives in Fremont with her husband and pets. “I’m grateful to live in a town that has this opportunity (Terra State). I feel a lot more people would succeed if they tried to experience the College. I don’t think people realize what is here and available to them.”
