Terra State Community College is pleased to share updated information regarding the
Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program.
The PTA program remains fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). CAPTE has been formally notified of the College’s plans for program resumption and future cohort offerings.
Planned Cohort Offerings
As part of a phased and intentional restart, Terra State anticipates offering two potential cohort pathways, subject to final approvals, application processes, and enrollment requirements:
-
Condensed / Articulated Cohort – Fall 2026 Beginning in Fall 2026, Terra State is offering a condensed cohort option designed for a limited population of students who meet specific articulated or advanced standing criteria. This cohort is intended to support students with qualifying prior coursework or aligned academic preparation. Additional eligibility requirements and application details will be communicated on the webpage. - Traditional Cohort – A traditional PTA cohort, following the standard program sequence and admission process, is planned to begin in Fall 2027. This pathway will be open to students applying through the College’s regular PTA admissions process. Application for this cohort will be available on the PTA website in early 2027. Traditional students are encouraged to reach out to the program chair to start your general education courses to be set up for success as the cohort begins in 2027.
Additional Information
Specific application timelines, admission criteria, and cohort details will be published as they are finalized. Specific program offerings remain subject to institutional approval, accreditation requirements, and enrollment capacity.
Students interested in the Physical Therapist Assistant program are encouraged to monitor this webpage regularly for updates and to contact the PTA program chair with questions.
