HVACR Associate Degree Program Update

Terra State Community College is notifying current and prospective students that the Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVACR) Associate of Applied Science degree program has been placed in sunset status and will no longer accept new students effective with the Spring 2027 term. This action is the result of Ohio Senate Bill 1 program viability requirements, which require academic programs to meet minimum enrollment and graduate thresholds.

Current students will have the opportunity to complete the degree through an approved teach-out plan. Academic advisors will work individually with affected students to develop a personalized completion plan and ensure progress toward graduation. The anticipated teach-out period extends through Spring 2029, although timelines may be adjusted based on student needs and course completion requirements.

The HVACR certificate program and HVACR technical courses are not affected by this change and will continue to be offered. Students interested in pursuing HVACR training and industry credentials may still enroll in the certificate pathway.

Current students who have questions regarding their academic plan should contact Academic Advising at 419.559.2345 or email Advising@terra.edu
