When should I apply?

As soon as you are considering attending Terra State, you should complete the free application. This enters you into our system so that we can help you move through the admissions process smoothly. By completing the application as early as possible, you have more time to complete the extra paperwork including securing funding and requesting transcripts.

In general, high school seniors should apply before April 1st and all others should apply at least 30 days before the start of the semester for which you are applying.

How am I going to pay for all of this?

Most of our students receive and use some type of financial aid (grants and/or loans). We recommend filling out the Free Federal Application for Financial Aid (FAFSA) early. Regulations have changed so you can now apply earlier than before using previous tax returns. What is an official transcript and how to I get mine?

Terra State requires an official high school or GED transcript from all applicants. This is an official record of your previous schooling and can be requested from your high school or state's Department of Education (for GED graduates). For those who have attended another college or university, you can request your college transcript from that institution and have it sent to us. This is extremely important for Transfer students. To learn more about this process, contact us at admissions@terra.edu or 419.559.2349.

What is Terra State's admission policy?

Terra State has an “open door” admission policy for Ohio residents, United States citizens, and non-citizens with permanent resident status. Terra State extends educational opportunity to everyone with a high school diploma or GED certificate, and to non-high school graduates under certain conditions. Do I need a background check to attend Terra State?

While most will not need a background check, certain applicants will, including those entering certain medical fields (please check with your division office or program faculty) and ex-offenders. What is a reverse transfer and am I eligible?

The reverse transfer program allows students who transfer from Terra State to a four-year institution (but did not graduate from Terra State) the opportunity to earn their Associate degree. Reverse transfer is the process of transferring credits (coursework) from your current institution back to Terra State for application toward an Associate degree.
